Aim:  
 
DRC’s Multi-Functional Safe Space (MFSS) needs a psychologist to work under the supervision of the MFSS Officer and technical supervision of the protection Coordinator to provide psychological services to persons of concern at the center.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 35 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Turkey since early 2013, working with by and large with non-camp Syrian refugees and affected host communities. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. The overall objective for DRC in Turkey is the protection and promotion of durable solutions to displacement affected populations on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights with more immediate objectives focusing both on the immediate subsistence needs, protection and self-reliance support as well as a more long term focus on capacity building. In Turkey, DRC works partially through partners, also providing intensive capacity building support, while also conducting direct implementation. 
 
About the Job
 
DRC is looking for a Psychologist for its program in Turkey. In close cooperation with the MFSS Officer and technical supervision of the protection Coordinator, the Psychologist is responsible for 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with the protection team for the identification and referral of cases.  
  • Conduct screening and assessment of beneficiaries and develop individualized rehabilitation plans according to their needs 
  • Provide psychosocial support and counseling services to beneficiaries and their families (if needed) 
  • Facilitate group therapy and support group sessions in coordination with the protection program manager. 
  • Organize community awareness activities for beneficiaries in coordination with the MFSS team.  
  • Ensure the complete and updated filing of beneficiary information.  
  • Provide capacity building activities to develop skills of the protection staff to respond to the protection needs of the beneficiaries.  
  • Assist in performing any other tasks requested by the MFSS Officer and the protection Coordinator.  
  • Coordinate with MFSS assistants 
  • Provide psychological support to other departments if needed 
 
About you
 
To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology  
  • 3 to 4 years of experience with Syrian refugees 
  • Experience working within a team 
  • Fluent in Arabic , English and Basic Turkish  
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills 
  • Willingness to travel throughout Turkey. 
  • Willingness to work long hours and meet strict deadlines, as needed. 
  • You have to hold a Turkish citizenship or residency or valid passport with valid visa (the residency application will be required at the moment of the recruitment)

What we offer: 
 
DRC will offer the successful applicant 11 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 01.02.2017 and be willing and able to work in Kilis.  
We offer a fair compensation package depending on your qualification and experiences as well as additional allowances such as relocation allowance and living allowances, if applicable. DRC Turkey is income tax exempted.
