Background:

OSCE field operations are the front line of the OSCE’s engagement on the ground, supporting host authorities in fulfilling OSCE commitments and implementing a comprehensive approach to security. The OSCE Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field operation working on inter-ethnic relations, early warning, the rule of law, democratic governance, transnational threats and police reform.

Please note that this is a temporary position in the duration of 5 months and 29 days. Roster of suitable candidates will be established as a result of this selection process, to be used for future similar needs on ad hoc basis. 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Material Management Assistant, the incumbent will provide support services related to daily manipulation of goods in and out of the storage, performance of repairperson services including minor building repairs of OSCE premises. More specifically the incumbent will be responsible for:

  1. Loading, unloading and moving non-expendable and expendable supplies, small furniture, appliances and equipment to/from delivery to the storage;
  2. Delivery/distribution of supplies and goods from storage to offices inside the OSCE premises and to OSCE locations in the country using a Mission provided vehicle;
  3. Providing logistical support to departments regarding events (conferences, meetings, etc.) transporting and carrying necessary equipment;
  4. Presenting handovers to the final users and collecting them in line with the Material Transfer Order from Material Management Section;
  5. Ensuring items are properly stored so that no safety or fire hazards exist and items are easy to find; keeping storage areas clean and neat;
  6. Ensuring that goods received from the suppliers are in good condition and reporting promptly when required; Maintaining stock of repair supplies, tools, materials, parts, to ensure their availability for scheduled maintenance and emergency responses;
  7. Removing, relocating, repairing, installation and testing of the stored equipment; minor repairs including restoring operations of non-functioning items, when possible. Collecting, shredding and transporting items for disposal and recycling;
  8. Maintaining and performing minor repair work on furniture and equipment, a/c systems, adjustment of the doors and handles, hanging up notice boards, TV sets, pictures, fixing curtains, doors and fixtures of leased premises;
  9. Performing other duties as required, including driving of official vehicles. 


Necessary Qualifications:

  • Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of North Macedonia;
  • Completed secondary education;
  • Minimum one year of related work experience in stock control and/or building maintenance (mason, carpenter or similar);
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and in local languages;
  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, ethnicities, religions and cultural backgrounds.
  • Holding a valid driving license.

 

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 491.54 (part-time, 20 hours per week). 

Social benefits will include the possibility of participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.
