PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To support the WHO Representative’s Office needs for information technology and Data Management including installation, maintenance and proper use of data resources at the WR Office, support in the assessment and verification of project infrastructure and applications at WRO and country project.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DUTIES

1.Provide information technology and Data Management support to Primary Health care program including software installation and updates specifically dealing with troubleshooting of database management.

2.Support the Primary Health care Program in the implementation, management and upgrade of the national health system database.

3.Support WHO Jordan office in the development and upgrading of required databases for administration procedure application.

4.Develop, update information on Primary Health care program according to the need of selected programs for WHO.

5.Assist in training national MoH program’s staff on WHO different software’s, maintenance of Global Database Registration System.

6.Assists in the implementation of E-health activities at the country level in collaboration with the Regional Office.

7.Prepares and verifies reports of newly received data processing software for the WR Office and other WHO supported projects and dispatch them to the Regional Office

8.Conducts assessment and evaluation of ICT needs in support of WR office and national health programmes and communicates results to the Regional Office for coordination and approval of action.

9.Analysis of needs, definition of requirements, software development, testing and deployment in support of national health programmes using industry standards.

10.Coordinates with the ITT at the Regional Office, the installation, set up, implementation, and training for computer applications to facilitate workflow and implementation of technical programmes.

11.Based on needs assessments, conduct related training sessions for staff and non staff, resulting in better use of IT resources

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of secondary education; Training in area of informatics or telecommunication.
Formal training on Windows Operating Systems family; Formal training on MS Office Suite.

Desirable:University degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field is an asset.

Experience

Essential:At least eight years of progressive experience in operation of computers, hardware maintenance/trouble-shooting and software support.

Desirable: Relevant experience in the UN system.

Functional Knowledge and Skills

-Good knowledge of microcomputer operations;

-Excellent knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Windows based networking environment;

-Excellent knowledge of Windows based back office and desktop applications;

-Knowledge of basic telecommunications technologies and Internet based protocols.

REMUNERATION

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at JOD 20,280 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
