Job Description

Job Overview: 
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for essential accounting functions such as p-card reconciliation, billing, data tracking, and other tasks as assigned.  This position reports directly to the Senior Finance Coordinator.
Major Responsibilities: 
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 
  • Manage office credit cards and prepare reconciliation monthly. 
  • Prepare, distribute, and file Time & Effort reports.
  • Preparation of monthly invoicing for required grants. 
  • Check ETO Recon report and coordinate with relevant programs if applicable.
  • Assist in sending weekly DFA reports for R&P and Matching Grants
  • Assist it with updating internal finance procedures. 
  • Maintain access to all lease agreements, and contracts for all equipment, property, etc.
  • Assist processing Payments requests when needed.
  • Back up for deposit transactions.
  • Other projects and assignments as needed.

Position Reports to:  Senior Finance Coordinator
Other Internal and/or external contacts: 
Internal: Resettlement Team, Employment Team, Anti-Trafficking Team, Immigration Team, Youth Program Team, New Roots Team, Immigration Team, Intensive Case Management Team, Volunteer Coordination, Finance Team. 
External:  Volunteers, Interns.
Job Requirements: 
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance with at least 1 year of nonprofit accounting experience.
  • Lived experience as a refugee or immigrant is highly preferred. 
  • Proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment. Reporting experience preferred.
  • Well organized; high attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office Programs, database experience, and various other financial-related software programs. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Working Environment:  
Standard office environment at IRC’s office in Seattle; Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with occasional evening or weekend activities as needed.  Limited flexible workplace available with approval (HYBRID – NOT FULL TIME REMOTE)
Access to a reliable vehicle to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area for partner meetings and events.
