International Potato Center POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a Country People & Culture (P&C) Senior Coordinator who will be responsible for managing all aspects related to the employment cycle in India (such as benefits, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, retention, and others) and ensuring the implementation of CIP policies, procedures and guidelines is in line with current employment law.

Within this pluralistic strategy, qualitative social science has a central, and increasing place for explaining human and institutional behavior and assessing benefits and risks for human development.

About the role: The successful candidate will provide analytical and experienced support around the Staff Employment Cycle based on the P&C policies and will act as a first point of contact for the managers and employees contributing to the delivery of people solutions and the implementation of wider P&C strategies in the country. This position will be based in New Delhi, India, and report directly to the Senior HR Business Partner in HQ and co-report to the Country Manager - India.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a HR focal partner for managers and staff to promote decision making that is fair and considers the overall impact at CIP-India office.

• Manage the recruitment and selection process for national staff, consultants and interns for CIP-India office by complying with internal recruitment policy, good practices and ensure alignment with donor’s recruitment policies.

• Give specialized P&C advice to country levels, in consultation with People and Culture (P&C) Department – HQ and provide support and advice to managers and staff in solving P&C issues and help them to interpret and apply P&C policies and practices in day-to-day work.

• Provide senior level support to staff to translate business requirements into effective P&C practices, delivering people solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Partner with the P&C team in HQ to support local policy on disciplinary and grievance to guarantee compliant decision making and to accompany senior leaders in complex situations especially those with legal implications.

• Guide and accompany the induction program for new starters (NRS/GRS and Interns) to contribute with their smooth transition to the organization.• Oversee Performance Management procedures for CIP-India in coordination with P&C team in HQ. Liaise with P&C HQ on promotion requests.

• Attend staff development needs and actively participate in supporting the expansion of the Talent

Managementprogram by collatinglearningneedsand conductinganalysesfrom performance evaluations.

• Prepare ad hoc (non – typical) P&C metrics and reports to support special projects.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of P&C processes, procedures and practices.

• Undertake projects on P&C related topics as assigned.

• Comply with applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures.

What are we looking for?

• Master’s degree in international development or related field or bachelor’s degree in human resources.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

• Knowledge and expertise related to HR policies, processes and practices of Compensation and Benefits,

Recruitment and Onboarding, Performance Management and Leadership Development.

• Deep knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

• Experience on HR/Payroll administration and record keeping including compensation, taxes and other

deductions/earnings.

• Fluent in English and Hindi.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region would be an asset.
