ICRISAT seeks applications from India Nationals for the position of Senior Executive ? Security Services. The position is required to ensure overall security coverage of the Institute during through proper monitoring and reporting mechanism. The incumbents will oversee the duties and responsibilities of Security Assistants and facilitate them with necessary logistical support as and when required. This position will be based at ICRISAT?s Headquarters in Patancheru, Hyderabad, India.

ICRISAT and its partners help empower those living in the semi-arid tropics, especially smallholder farmers, to overcome poverty, hunger, malnutrition and a degraded environment through more efficient and profitable agriculture.

ICRISAT envisions a prosperous, food-secure and resilient dryland tropics. Its mission is to reduce poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradationsemi-arid areas. ICRISAT conducts research on its mandate crops of chickpea, pigeonpea, groundnut, sorghum, pearl millet and finger millet in the arid and semi-arid tropics, with a agricultural systems approach. Tropical dryland areas are usually seen as resource-poor and perennially beset by shocks such as drought, thereby trapping dryland communities in poverty and hunger and making them dependent on external aid. Job Responsibilities:

  • The Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the fullest security coverage in his shift to the institute premises.

  • To take charge of the shift as scheduled along with the keys/vehicles/property held at the main gate.

  • To allocate suitable security assistants with proper instructions at various posts across all areas or as directed by the Lead Security Officer.

  • To carry out regular patrolling of the property during the shift.

  • To carry out regular checks and ensure that all security assistants are alert at their posts and fully conversant of their area of responsibility.

  • To ensure that discipline and orders are maintained by the security assistants and other staff and to initiate reports against defaulters.

  • To ensure that all the vehicles and personnel entering the exiting the premises are properly checked.

  • To actively lead any emergency situations.

  • To ensure the relevant rules and regulations of the Institute are adhered at all times.

  • To ensure the safety and security of the people and equipment inside the premises.

  • To maintain the general dairy of Security Supervisors and record all events and incidents diligently in a chronological order. Important incidents are to be conveyed through email and telephone immediately. To respond to fire alarms and organize a firefighting party to extinguish the fire as soon as possible. All fire precautions are undertaken/observe during the tenure of duty.

  • To ensure that the firefighting equipment deployed is in a ready to use condition at all times.

  • To seal any doors, windows, almirah left open by the program staff after office hours.

  • Keep watch on all the fire Hazardous material dumped / stored and reporting. Ensure that all the buildings and fields are thoroughly monitored for any fire.

  • To ensure that the Guard Tour System is activated during guard checks.

Eligibility and Qualification:

  • Retired Ex. Junior Commissioned Officer from the Armed Forces/ Paramilitary Force with atleast 15 years experience in the armed forces.

  • Should have good English communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A valid 2& 4 wheeler driving license is a must. Should be willing to work in shifts.

  • A formal training in fire safety will be an added advantage.

General:

This is Contractual position initially for a period of three years (36 months) renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute's continuing need for the position.
