The Global Operations Directorate at Amnesty International oversees the work of our Regional Offices in over 10 locations around the world, established as part of exciting changes to help us be a truly global movement for human rights. We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant for the Senior Director of this directorate, who is able to provide quick and efficient support in a sometimes challenging environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE: As the Executive Assistant to the Senior Director of Global Operations at Amnesty International you will play an essential role in enabling the Senior Director to meet his objectives as leader of the directorate. The Senior Director travels frequently and you will be responsible for providing a range of high-level administrative and other support services to ensure that everything is running smoothly, with the appropriate services, systems and processes to maintain high standards. You will liaise regularly with colleagues across multiple locations and time zones and follow-up to ensure actions are complete, including by those more senior to you.
ABOUT YOU: As the first point of contact for the Senior Director you will be a strong communicator, providing a high-level service to a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will thrive in a busy, fast-changing environment, be flexible and able to juggle conflicting priorities within a short timeframe, working outside normal office hours where necessary. You are resilient and organised, using your initiative, confidence and drive to work effectively unsupervised. You will also have the political judgement and discretion to manage sensitive information.
Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We reach almost every country in the world and have:
- more than 2 million members and supporters who drive forward our fight for rights
- more than 5 million activists who strengthen our calls for justice
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they're denied. And whether we're applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
At Amnesty International, we are passionate about what we do and we are proud of our achievements as a movement. To compensate our employees for the wonderful work they do, we reward them through a combination of an attractive and sector competitive salary and benefits package, high levels of engagement and involvement, and a commitment to employee development.
