Job description

  • Support co-facilitation of the Regional Protection Working Group (RPWG) meetings and follow up on decisions and action points;
  • Support information management tasks and provide monthly updates to APC Co-lead;
  • Identify relevant INGOs and NGOs to be RPWG members and support their inclusion in all activities;
  • In cooperation with RPWG lead, develop and implement appropriate reporting systems to ensure follow-up of protection issues, including by APC, UNOCHA and UHNCR;
  • In cooperation with RPWG lead, write analytical protection and needs reports to APC at regional level;
  • Help in the delivery of capacity-building trainings to RPWG members and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Liaise regularly with APC co-lead on protection assessments, reports and roll out of APC plans and tools;
  • Ensure all RPWG lead members contribute/take part in data collection, assessments and monitoring;
  • Support the development of RPWG plans that ensure response to field concerns and help to prioritize needs;
  • Undertake field missions.


  • Highly experienced in coordination;
  • Significant knowledge of protection;
  • Significant experience in humanitarian work, particularly relating to refugee and displacement issues;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including capacities to negotiate with non-government stakeholders;
  • Sound report writing ability, in English and local languages;
  • Flexibility to work outside standard working hours.
