Deployment Officer (Logistics) for OSCAR Roll-Out

About OSCAR Project

The Department of Financial Resources & Logistics is leading a project named OSCAR, aiming at improving Supply Chain management and customer service. To this end, Logistics, Finance and Assistance Divisions are working together to implement new ways of working, based on a transversal software named JD Edwards (JDE). A first release was started in June 2014 in Geneva, and will continue throughout various ICRC delegations worldwide until 2018.

Main responsibilities of the Deployment officer, include but are not limited to

1) Training

The Deployment Officer will assist the Deployment Leader with all training related activities. As a JDE expert he/she will:

  • give training and presentations to all users on-site
  • verify that Key Users have been properly trained and follow-up with them for any additional questions or clarification they need
  • help ensure that all the training assessments are completed
  • help translate, write, and modify JDE procedures and presentations

2) Data preparation

The deployment officer will closely work with the Data Migration Officer and Deployment Leader to help ensure:

  • that the cutover and data migration is a smooth transition
  • assist in manual data entry when necessary

3) Support

The Deployment Officer will assist the Deployment Leader in Post Go-Live Support activities. He/she will:

  • work alongside the end users and assist in their daily operation by providing clarification via face-to-face contact
  • help ensure that the Support processes are working properly (i.e. Level 0: Key users, Level 1: ICT Service Desk, Level 2: MSCC, LOG_SCSP, other)

4) Coordination

The Deployment Officer will be required to:

  • provide various types of information, documentation and reports as requested to the Deployment Leader, Deployment Planner and Project Management
  • participate in Project Status Meeting, Lessons Learnt, Debriefings and other related meetings
  • help ensure that users in the delegation understand the new roles
  • perform other task and duties as they arise in each deployment

Expected results

  • Ensure that all OSCAR End-Users (LOG and requesters) understand the new roles and processes and that they are properly trained on JDE and feel comfortable using the tool
  • Ensure on-site support and make sure that Key users are able to provide Level 0 support and report issues to Level 1 and 2
  • Ensure that the system is properly running, data is migrated and stocks are neutralized

Profile and skills sought

  • Training experience
  • ICRC Logistics processes knowledge preferable
  • Willingness to travel extensively (100%)
  • ERP experience as a plusExcellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks
  • Capacity to manage stress and maintain composure under pressure
  • Team player
  • French/English speaking – writing (both at a fluent level)

Length of contract: 1 year renewable
Start date: ASAP

***Please note that this post is not based in Geneva at Headquarters, nor in one specific ICRC delegation. In general the Deployment Team spends 7-8 weeks in one delegation, often moving internally in-between sites. At the end of the 8 weeks, the Deployment team moves directly to the next delegation. Additionally, this is not a family mission.***
