Agribusiness Systems International (ASI) is a support institution of ACDI/VOCA that manages its own finances, logistical operations, and portfolio of programs. While ASI works closely with ACDI/VOCA, both technically and logistically, we are an independent company with a small staff size that must be multi-functional and adaptive. The Accounting Assistant position is a vital role within ASI that assists in supporting project and corporate accounting.

Primary activities include but are not limited to: entering invoices into QuickBooks and maintaining proper A/P and A/R logs; entering journals that are complete and in compliance with ASI accounting standards; preparing payment requests; preparing bank transfers and entering transactions into QuickBooks; and reviewing monthly financial reports from field offices and entering approved transactions into QuickBooks.

In addition, this position will be responsible for reviewing and reconciling corporate and field office bank statements; reviewing and assisting in updating project budgets; and collecting and reviewing timesheets.

Minimum Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in accounting, finance, or economics. A demonstrated interest in international development topics and current issues is preferred. Candidates must have at least six months of work experience in a professional office environment. Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, is preferred. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to proactively problem-solve and to effectively communicate with team members and management. Proven ability to work successfully as part of a diverse team, as well as independently in a fast-paced environment is required. Fluency in English is required. Additional French/Spanish skills are desired.
