Restoring Family Links (RFL) Casework & Outreach Associate

The American Red Cross seeks a Caseworker and Outreach Associate to conduct Restoring Family Links (RFL) casework and outreach activities. The RFL program helps reconnect families separated internationally by war, disaster, migration and humanitarian emergencies. The Caseworker and Outreach Associate will support casework processing and outreach initiatives. The Caseworker and Outreach Associate is expected to have experience in using social media, networking and forming partnerships and skills in client casework and/or social work. The position reports to the Manager of the Restoring Family Links unit within the International Services department.
This position is a term-limited, grant funded position, that will end on June 30, 2017.
The Caseworker and Outreach Associate will work closely with the Restoring Family Links team at national headquarters and with staff in the chapter network on RFL casework and promotion of RFL services.
Specifically, the RFL Caseworker and Outreach Associate responsibilities will include:
•Casework processing including case registration, review of chapter casework, case follow-up and other casework activities as needed.
•Social media outreach including monitoring trends, promoting Red Cross and other relevant content, daily activity on the national headquarters RFL accounts, development and coordination of weekly blog posts and identification of new opportunities to engage with constituents through social media.
•Capture the impact of the Restoring Family Links program’s social media engagement through quarterly reporting.
•Support outreach event planning, by integrating a social media plan into meetings and events.
•Support the outreach grant program for American Red Cross chapters by reinforcing chapter outreach plan implementation, monitoring progress and collecting reports.
•Represent American Red Cross Restoring Family Links program at conferences, events and with partner agencies.
•Support the American Red Cross chapter network in working with partner agencies and community groups on outreach around Restoring Family Links.
•Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
•Up to 20% Domestic travel required.
•Bachelor’s Degree required.
•Three to five years professional experience.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong team-building skills and experience forming partnerships.
•Strong administrative and organizational skills.
•Analytical and time management skills.
•Ability to handle heavy workloads and manage competing priorities.
•Familiarity with the American Red Cross Restoring Family Links program.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, publishing applications and using social media platforms.
•Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative and teamwork.
•Must possess strong personal integrity and ability to adapt to changing situations.
•Spanish, French or Arabic language skills desired.
•Selected candidate must be legally allowed to work in the US without any need for Visa Sponsorship now or in the future.
