Financial Literacy Community Liaison

Job Description:

Reporting to the Project Director, the community liaison is responsible for providing recruitment and case management to adults that result in student recruitment and retention, and maintaining cooperative relationships and open communication with all staff and students.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivering outreach and recruitment to specific populations targeted for services;
  • Maintaining student retention through regular one-on-one meetings with students;
  • Conducting record-keeping, data entry, and file maintenance to support program administration
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student records and personal information at all times

Job Requirements:

  • BA in social working, or closely related degree from an accredited college or university,
  • 3 years of experience working with low literacy / low income populations in a community based setting;
  • Spanish language fluency;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with low literacy English as a Second Language speakers;
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining vulnerable populations in a community-based setting;
  • Direct experience in working with low income households;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with low literacy English as a Second Language speakers;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to provide effective follow-up on individual activities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams
  • Track record of being able to produce work in a timely manner, with flexibility when necessary to adapt to changing work conditions;
  • Must be proficient in computer applications: Microsoft Word and Excel;
