Financial Literacy Trainer

Job Description:

Reporting to the Project Director, the Financial Literacy Trainer is responsible for providing financial literacy (FL) education and training to adults that result in increased FL levels, and maintaining cooperative relationships and open communication with all staff and students.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivering FL instruction using a variety of materials and teaching techniques to enhance student learning, achieve core indicators of performance, and maintain student interest, thereby resulting in student retention
  • Developing and administering pre- and post- financial literacy assessments in order to demonstrate results
  • Develop and implement pre-literacy and literacy-level appropriate activities
  • Monitoring student’s progress towards core indicators of performance, to include acquiring specific skills FL skills
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student records and personal information at all times

Job Requirements:

  • BA in education, or closely related degree from an accredited college or university,
  • 3 years of experience providing financial literacy education;
  • Spanish language fluency;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with low literacy English as a Second Language speakers;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated success with tracking and meeting performance outcomes;
  • Knowledge of case management systems with measurable goals and objectives;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to provide effective follow-up on individual activities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams
  • Track record of being able to produce work in a timely manner, with flexibility when necessary to adapt to changing work conditions.
