Christian Aid is seeking senior staff to manage a major donor funded governance programme in Sierra Leone.

About the role

The Head of Programmes will manage programmatic elements within a major contract with DFID for a governance programme aimed at supporting more inclusive and accountable governance in Sierra Leone.

This role will include managing and supporting a team with technical input, and ensuring effective management and delivery of the programme and appropriate support for partners. A key deliverable is ensuring quality project and budget management and working towards embedding a results framework to support programme strategy and program interventions.

About you

The successful applicant will have proven experience in designing, implementing and monitoring capacity strengthening approaches for government and civil society partners. They will have a strong understanding of governance, service delivery and accountability programming in Sierra Leone with significant experience in a field-based management of a complex, multi-sectoral international development donor programme. The role also requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, with ability to manage political sensitivities effectively and constructively.
