Case Management Field Coordinator


Under the direct supervision of the Field Officer/County Coordinator and under the overall supervision of the Subnational EPR Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable to the technical support on epidemic disease case management required for proper implementation of activities under the Epidemic Preparedness and Response (EPR) Consortium in which IOM is leading implementation in 5 counties.

III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Attend and represent IOM in regular technical coordination meetings and, whenever necessary in collaboration with the County Coordination Field Officer;

  2. Maintain an effective flow of information between IOM in the field and the corresponding CHTs by sharing meeting minutes and reports on weekly and monthly basis as agreed;

  3. Support the CHT in his/her county to map, mobilize and efficiently allocate resources to fill identified gaps and meet the objectives of their EPR plans within the project timeframe;

  4. Conduct needs assessment at target sites to identify gaps and work with the Subnational EPR Coordinator and County Coordination Field Officer in the county to fill these gaps as possible;

  5. Organize follow up and monitoring visits to selected target sites within his/her county with continuous provision of technical support to the CHT on case management and other related aspects of the country EPR plans;

  6. Support implementation and monitoring of activities related to case management in the county EPR work plan, including all assessments and simulations;

  7. Ensure all measures of infection prevention and control – IPC, occupational health and safety as well as quality control and assurance in both the clinical and the non-clinical aspects of project activities in the county;

  8. Coordinate with concerned partners the delivery of relevant activities within the scope of the project at the community level;

  9. Prepare and submit weekly technical reports to the Subnational EPR Coordinator and the Program Support Unit (PSU) in Monrovia, and provide periodic technical updates and documentation of best practices, lessons learnt and recommendations – if any;

  10. Undertake frequent duty travel to target locations and activity sites within the county in order to monitor and ensure quality of project implementation according to predefined performance indicators;

  11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.


· University Degree in public health, medicine, nursing, or any other related field in health sciences from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or

· Technical degree in the above fields with eight years of relevant professional experience.


· Experience in public health, emergency health preparedness and response, implementation of infection prevention, control programmes;

· Experience working with government and/or at international agencies;

· Previous experience in coordinating and implementing capacity building activities is a must;

· Good level of computer and report writing skills;

VI. Languages





Previous experience with IOM and knowledge of IOM rules and regulations is an advantage.
