As the logistics coordinator, you work under the direct authority and responsibility of the General Coordinator, to whom he reports. You have direct authority and responsibility on the country coordination Logistics team. You have a technical supervision role on 3 site logisticians: Kachin, Pyapon and Yangon field logisticians.

Your mission is to provide in the short as well in the long term the appropriate material means and environment to run MDM's program while ensuring permanently: -The security of human, material and immaterial resources, -The best ratio quality/prices inside donors and MDM's requirements/frameworks.

It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 40 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts.

MdM has been working in Myanmar since 1992. The organization currently implements 2 main projects:

  • A HIV/AIDS program, in Yangon and Kachin, targeting most at risk groups (sex workers, men having sex with men, drug users) funded by Global Fund;
  • A project focusing on Maternal and Child health, funded by 3MDG in the delta region. A Disaster risk reduction approach has to be developed in the two projects above, and within the Country strategy currently being redesigned (2016-2020).

More specifically you:

  • supervise fleet management and communication management done directly by site logisticians by making sure that the equipment is adapted to need within budget constraints.
  • lead the preparation of international orders for logistics side, in liaison with medical coordinator. You liaise with HQ logistics regarding quotations, final order agreement, and shipment and apply and follow import licenses.
  • are responsible for ad equation and accuracy of stock management, through direct supervision of pharmacist in Yangon (CPH), and supervision of stock management implemented in sites. You are responsible for adaptation of stock management (physical warehouse conditions, stock movements recording) to donor's and MDM quality requirements.
  • ensure the annual forecast of the required logistics means to inform annual budgets and donor budgets design.
  • review and update logistics tools and procedures in accordance with MDM tools, you supervise and support compliance of logistics teams with MDM procedures and tools.
  • ensure liaison with HQ logistics department on logistics aspects (inventories, procurement, transportation of goods, MDM procedures).
  • manage country coordination logistics team (3 persons) and Contribute to the management of logistics supervisors in Yangon, Kachin and Pyapon as a technical supervisor
  • monitor risks at country level and proposes appropriate means to reduce risks and define and updates, with the general coordinator, and ensures implementation on all sites of rules and procedures that ensure the protection of data, people and equipments.
  • supports donor reporting on logistic aspects whenever necessary (procurement and transportation documentation archives, inventories of equipment and stocks). You create and introduce procedures for archiving documents (guidelines, certificates, originals, contracts, user instructions) in order to capitalise on and preserve them.

You have at least 5 year experience in logistics field in INGO, NGO and UN.

You have an excellent purchasing management, fleet management, inventory and asset management.

You have good communication and leading skills, a good team spirit and excellent management skills.

You are flexible and able to travel frequently.

You are fluent in English (both oral and written).

The knowledge of Myanmar environment is a strong asset.
