Working for the EU –Find vacancies, learn about different career paths and contract types

The institutions of the European Union (EU) employs over 40,000 people. This means plenty of interesting opportunities for qualified candidates. To get your career going we will explain the different contract types available. You will also find a list of links to websites for all 44 agencies and decentralized bodies. Be advised that most EU jobs are only open for nationals of member states.

For most positions in the EU, you must be a national of one of the member states of the union. That said, some EU Institutions (such as European Investment Bank, EIB) also allow nationals of supporting countries to apply for vacancies.

The following 27 countries are member states of the EU:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
