LOCATION: Northern Syria, Manbij

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Assist in maintaining the financial records by maintaining cash books including petty cash and cash logs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain Cash Books and make sure that all supporting documentation is according to the guidelines and policies.

· Maintain Cash Records and ensure their monthly reconciliation with cash on hand and Balance Sheet.

· Preparing expense report to the grant accountant on at least by-weekly basis.

· Prepare cash vouchers on by-weekly basis.

· Assist with translation of financial supporting documentation.

· Assist Finance Department in ensuring compliance with centralized internal financial policies and procedures by project staff

· Provide other assistance to Finance Department

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:

· Degree or equivalent in accounting and finance or any relevant field

· Practical knowledge of financial basics.

· Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.

· Working knowledge of English.

· Requires good computer skills (Excel, World, Spread sheets).

· Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressure

· Basic understanding of business principles.

· Be organized, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

· Experience with international NGOs or other similar organizations is desirable.

· Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary.
