The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.

The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible in providing efficient and effective Human Resources and at the NRC Al-Hodeidah Office.

Job description

  • Assist in providing and updating the staff with the NRC HR policies and procedures, and their adherence to them.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in staff recruitment throughout the process of vacancy identification, advertisement, candidate selection, contracting, orientation and confirmation in liaison with line managers both at Head Office in Sanaa and at field offices.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff, and the support in the implementation of staff training and development programs.
  • Ensure maintenance of an effective, efficient and up to date staff records and filing system including contracts, leave, medical, awards, discipline, archiving, etc
  • Ensure maintenance the daily attendance sheet and share it by daily basis.
  • Ensure timely processing of the monthly payroll.
  • Assist in plan and support on the staff performance management and appraisal calendar and content.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving Incentive Workers contract contents.
  • To report all HR activities in Weekly/ Monthly basis to the line manager.
  • Other daily tasks requested by line manager.

Qualifications

  • Higher National Diploma Human Resources Management
  • Understanding of the relevant laws and statutory requirements.
  • One years of relevant work experience.

Education level

  • College / University, Bachelor's degree
