The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

Job description

  • Work with the NRC emergency team in providing timely response to emergency needs wherever they are to be found
  • Actively participate in emergency assessment, distribution and monitoring and ensure their coordination with relevant government and non government actors.
  • Continuously monitor and oversee beneficiary selection and ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Responsible for the correct distribution of assistance to beneficiaries as authorized
  • Prepare and implement plans of action for emergency response, taking into account the nature, scale and location of the emergency.
  • Represent NRC in relevant meetings, both bilaterally and multilaterally
  • Participate in field visits from donors and SO staff.
  • Travel to other NRC’s operation areas as directed by supervisor

Qualifications

  • University degree or high school diploma in related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in UN or NGO working with NFI and cash distributions.
  • Knowledge of community participatory approaches.
  • Proven experience in emergency response activities.
  • Good record of work with beneficiary selection.
