BACKGROUND
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Mediterranean Species Programme Coordinator, the Species Programme Intern will support the work and projects related to Red Listing and species conservation in the Mediterranean. This will include activities such as support for the organisation of workshops, research on certain topics, writing technical reports, as well as a range of administrative activities.

This assignment will include the following responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of the Mediterranean Red List of Monocotyledon Plants, including liaising and collaborating with species experts, reviewing species assessments and providing support in mapping species distribution in GIS;

• Support the development of project proposals that require specialized input on biodiversity issues;

• Assist in preparing presentations and draft web stories on a variety of topics;

• Provide support for the organisation of workshops and meetings;

• Provide a range of administrative support functions on a day-to-day basis (e.g. distribution lists, consultancy contracts, etc.).

This internship provides a challenging and interesting opportunity to work in a dynamic international organisation and to gain work experience in the field of nature conservation policies and projects. For this internship there is no financial remuneration but a daily allowance for meals as well as a contribution to cover transportation can be provided.

Preferred starting date of the internship is 15 February 2017.

The candidate will get an internship allowance of 550 € per month.
