The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for displaced populations. NRC started operation in the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2012. We deliver humanitarian assistance in 4 provinces in the sectors of Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA).

Job description

  • Area level logistic set up is in adherence with NRC standards and norms;
  • Area level mission functions is in compliance with NRC policies and procedures;
  • Area level ICT services are up and running to NRC standards;
  • Area level logistics team supports program & project implementation in the most efficient way.
  • The Logistics Coordinator is the Security Adviser to the Area Manager for Area South.
  • Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at Area level
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements at Area level
  • Management of the logistics team at Area level
  • Ensure timely and highly compliant procurement for all services and materials at are level in link with Finance and Program at Area level
  • Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  • Support line managers in procedures and required support team trainings
  • Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
  • Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods
  • Area level responsibility for ensuring that ICT services are adequate and to NRC standards
  • Implementation of the NRC Security Management System at Area level
  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  • Ensure logistics SoP’s are properly updated and disseminated
  • Ensure training on logistics related policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements at area level
  • Prepare and keep updated induction files which can be used for both new logistics staff and all new staff to NRC.
  • Support Logistics Manager to conduct Security Risk Analysis (SRA) according to minimum operational requirements (MOSS)
  • Minimize security risks to the operations of NRC at Area level

Qualifications

  • Experience from working as a Logistics Coordinator or Senior Logistics Officer preferably from within a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • IT expertise.
  • Fluency in English and Farsi, both written and verbal.

Personal qualities

  • University degree.
  • Knowledge of the context in Iran.
  • Experience and ability to train others, facilitate workshops and transfer knowledge.
  • Ability and readiness to spend significant periods of time working out of the NRC field offices.
