We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as Protection Coordinator 
 
Who are we? 
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. 
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

Duties and Responsibilities 
External representation and coordination 
• Represent DRC in coordination fora such as WGs, LHIF protection advocacy; 
• Support identification and development of strategic partnerships on protection; 
 
Technical support 
• Provide technical support, supervision and guidance to the Protection teams at the national and field levels (incl. development of technical tools and guidance, tailored capacity building plans, trainings and on-the-job coaching); 
• Ensure that staff adhere to general protection, protection mainstreaming principles, child protection and GBV best-practices and professional standards and principles;  
• Provide technical oversight of programme activities, including spot checks; 
 
HR and staff management 
• Line management and capacity building of CP and GBV Coordinators, Protection Analyst, interns; 
 
Programme development, management and reporting  
• Design and coordinate the protection strategy after consultation with field-based managers and national coordinators (incl. GBV and CP components);  
• Oversee production of external reports on protection themes; 
• Provide technical inputs into proposals, lead on proposal development if requested;

Moreover we also expect the following: 
a) Essential qualifications: University degree or higher education relevant to social work, public health, human rights or other relevant fields; Thorough understanding of best practices and strategies in Protection, Child protection and GBV response (case management, psychosocial support, etc.) and prevention and risk reduction.  
 
b) Essential experience:At least 5 years of proven international experience in implementation of GBV, child protection and protection programming in emergency and stabilization contexts; Thorough experience implementing GBV and child protection programs; Experience setting up protection monitoring and legal assistance programs; Solid experience with planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation skills; Experience in capacity building of local partners and providing direct technical support to local organizations; Thorough understanding of GBVIMS and child protection information management systems and protection information management in general; 
Proven experience in advocacy to governmental, donors and UN agencies on protection; Proven experience in community-based protection, specifically working in urban refugee settings;

DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31 December 2017, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from February 2017 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.
