CCCM Assistant

Aim: 
The CCCM Assistant will support the implementation of planned activities in either a formal IDP camp or informal settlements – focused primarily on needs identification, documentation and referrals/service requests, in addition to regular liaising with stakeholders. 
Provide any additional support as requested by other team members and the Project Manager. 
 
 
Reporting lines: 
a) Reports to: The position is reporting directly to the CCCM Officer, but remains under the overall supervision of the Project Manager with input from the Technical Advisor 
b) Subordinates: N/A.  
 
 
Responsibilities: 
Provide support to national camp management teams in formal IDP camp and/or support IDP site representatives in informal settlements. 
Ensure regular contact (physical or through phone calls) and collect site specific information/updates from IDP representatives.  
Assist in identifying needs, service gaps and duplications in all targeted sites. 
Document, track and provide timely referrals and service requests to specialist service providers. 
Help facilitate awareness campaigns or information dissemination to IDP populations using diverse methodologies, ensuring understanding by the IDP community 
Attend meetings with various stakeholders, including national authorities and IDPs as necessary or requested. 
Provide accurate and timely information that supports the drafting of weekly situation reports and other updates. 
Support the CCCM Officer and CCCM Team Leader in any other duties, as needed. 
 
Overarching tasks: 
The CCCM Assistant is a field-based position which supposes daily presence in either camps or informal IDP settlements.  
The CCCM Assistant will undertake any other tasks, within the framework of his/her position, as requested by his/her supervisor. 
 
 
Essential attributes:  
Essential experience/attributes: 
Minimum 2 year of professional experience, ideally involved in social services or community activism. 
Ideally, at least 1 year experience in international and/or local NGO; ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to refugees or IDPs. 
Proven leadership skills and experience in creating, establishing and negotiating relationships and building alliances and networks with various stakeholders at community and local and national levels. 
Strong understanding of humanitarian issues, especially related to Syrian refugee crisis and Iraq displacement. 
Ability to draft basic reports and situational briefings in English. 
Competence using Microsoft Word and Excel necessary.
 
 
Preferred attributes: 
a) Preferred qualifications: 
Advanced university degree is an asset.  
 
b) Preferred experience: 
Experience in social services or community activism.  
Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.  
Understanding of gender, protection and human rights.  
Extensive knowledge of the Syrian refugee crisis and Iraqi displacement.
