The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

Do you have at least 3 years of experience working in research and/or M&E in a humanitarian context? Do you have excellent communication and leadership skills and you are willing to work in a team? NRC Jordan has put in place a Monitoring & Evaluation Unit to establish and implement systems to promote evidence-based decision-making, programme and project performance, and internal management.  The M&E Coordinator’s role is to enhance NRC Jordan’s understanding of the consequences of its programming, improving internal systems, and promoting evidence-based decision-making and programme performance The M&E Coordinator will work with the M&E manager in ensuring that reports produced by the unit is of high quality and can be shared internally and externally to inform decision makings. Furthermore, the Coordinator ensures that M&E is established as a technical unit that offers relevant trainings to program staff and promotes high quality assessment, evaluation and study designs. 

We are looking for an M&E Coordinator to join our Jordan team, based in Amman 

Background 

NRC in the Middle East is responding to the Syria crisis, assisting refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq as well as people displaced inside Syria. We work in shelter, emergency distributions, education, water and sanitation and legal assistance. Our response on the ground has grown rapidly with the dramatic rise in displacement and we now have more than 1,200 staff members working on the regional response to the Syria crisis. 

Our Ideal Candidate 

An energetic, open minder person who has experience and able to manage resources to optimize results, also someone who has a proven experience in building capacity for staff, managing performance, and curious and committed to quality. Specific knowledge and experience includes:  
• Thorough experience with and knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and development programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods 
• Understanding of data and information needs for program management and decision making 
• Technical specific  knowledge from the humanitarian sector 
• High level English and Arabic language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing)
